To be fair here's a rundown of possible scenarios: A) You're being impatient and not giving him enough time to respond (although I'd expect any reputable business owner to acknowledge/respond to messages within 48 hours). B) Your email is getting bounced by a spam filter - although you said you tried to contact him every way imaginable, so I'd expect this includes IM, smoke signals, carrier pidgeon, etc.... and he's not responding to any form of cotnact. C) He is traveling and cannot respond to your messages. Which brings up the age-old point of why not put up an out of office message on his email/website. D) He is extremely busy and does not have the time to return messages that aren't urgent (everyone's definition of urgent is different). E) Maybe he's on a well-earned vacation. In that case, please refer to item C. In the first two scenarios, I'd chalk that up to the realities of life. We've gotten very accustomed to immediate gratification and expect all businesses to respond nearly instantaneously to our calls/messages. In the last three scenarios, I believe this is indicative of someone who doesn't have the proper sense to run a business that deals with the public on a day-to-day basis. And while I'm not saying that this is how Ash runs his business, I have to admit that the cyclic "Where's Ash" and "Does anyone know how to get in touch with Ash" posts are making me begin to lean in this direction. I would not suggest blindly sending someone money (no matter how well regarded they are) without getting in touch with them first to work out the arrangements of what is to be done with that money. However, in your post you said that's how Ash said to do the transaction. So it's up to you to decide if that's how you want to go. Personally, I prefer some kind of paper trail in case something didn't go as planned. That way, there's no disputing things in case something doesn't go as planned. Best of luck, Dave
